Clinical Research Study Evaluating an Investigational Treatment for Eczema

Eczema — also known as atopic dermatitis — is a condition that makes the skin red and itchy. There is no cure for eczema, but researchers are focused more than ever on trying to find ways to treat it.

Total Skin & Beauty Dermatology Center needs volunteers 12 and older in the Birmingham area who have had moderate to severe eczema for at least one year to evaluate a potential treatment using an autoinjector at home.

You or your child may qualify if eczema affects at least 10% of the body. To estimate how much of the body has eczema, 1% of the body is approximately the size of the hand, excluding the thumb. So, if you think there are 10 or more ‘hand prints’ of eczema, you or your child may qualify.

You or Your Child May Qualify if:

  • You or your child has had eczema for at least 1 year
  • You or your child eczema has eczema on at least 10% of the body
  • You or your child has tried a topical treatment and it did not work well enough
  • You or your child is able and willing to self-administer the study medication at home using an autoinjector (you will receive instructions)

Participants Receive:

  • Study-related medical care at no cost
  • Study medication at no cost
  • Compensation for time and travel may be provided
